Parchment Pearl is a vinyl based material. It is .090" inches thick which equates to about 3/16"
It is a 4 ply material with a thin Parchment (antique white) top layer over parchment / black / parchment base. This a replacement for the celluloid vintage pearl we used to offer.
The celluloid vintage pearl is still available in a multi ply or solid .090" thickness by special phone order at 541-461-0877
The reason for the change in material selection from the celluloid to the vinyl is due to two reasons. One is the price of the vinyl makes it much more affordable and in my personal opinion it looks better than the celluloid. The other reason is that the sheets of celluloid vintage pearl we receive from our supplier are usually always warped which creates a bit of a fabrication nightmare and could lead to difficulty in fitting the new guard to your Guitar or Bass
